Semi-Permanent Makeup Tattoo Removal

Semi-Permanent Makeup Tattoo Removal

Get a NEW look in just a few sessions

The Doctor & Co clinic is equipped with the PicoPlus laser equipment to perform semi-permanent makeup tattoo removal.

This high-precision laser eliminates all types of semi-permanent makeup in just a few sessions, regardless of the size and color; and on all skin types.

Whether to remove, modify or diminish eyebrow makeup, eye makeup (eyeliner), or lip makeup, this practically painless procedure leaves no marks nor scars. It’s also possible to re-tattoo the treatment area if you so desire.

Dr Simon Sebbah has received specialized training in tattoo removal in the most sensitive of zones (ex: eye contour). Our clinic is one of the only places equipped with the necessary equipment to perform these delicate procedures.

How Does It Work?

Due to its brief impulsion lapse, the PicoPlus laser rapidly eliminates tattoos without damaging the surrounding skin. The ink pigments are pulverized into very fine particles which are then eliminated by the organism.

3-6 sessions are required to completely erase semi-permanent makeup, according to color intensity.

4-6 weeks are necessary between 2 sessions.

Eyeliner Tattoo Removal

Laser removal of eyeliner (semi-permanent makeup) is a highly specialized procedure that is still rarely offered, as it requires a strict medical protocol and a high level of expertise.

Contrary to popular belief, so-called “semi-permanent” makeup can last for many years. Over time, a cat-eye style line may no longer suit your look, or the pigment may spread beneath the skin, making the line less defined or even changing color, which can become a source of aesthetic discomfort. This particularly sensitive area requires the use of metal protective eye shields inserted into the orbit to protect the eye during the laser treatment. Very few centers are trained to perform this demanding technique.

Dr. Sebbah offers this specialized eyeliner tattoo removal with advanced medical expertise, combining maximum safety, precision, and personalized care.

FAQs

Answers to frequently asked questions about tattoo removal

+ - What does a tattoo removal session entail?

Following a preliminary appointment with Dr Simon Sebbah, the session can commence. The session lasts anywhere from 15-30 minutes.

For maximum comfort, an anesthetic cream is applied on the treatment area 1 hour prior to the procedure.

In the case of a semi-permanent makeup tattoo removal in the periocular zone, protective eye patches are placed on the patient’s eyes.

A moisturizing, repairing cream is then applied on the treatment area upon completing the session. There is no prescribed recovery time, and the patient can resume his/her daily routine.

Semi-permanent make-up will progressively disappear throughout the sessions.

+ - What are the contraindications?

The procedure cannot be performed on a treatment area with any wounds or lesions, a herpes outbreak, nor on pregnant women.

The patient cannot be exposed to the sun in the month prior to the procedure nor use any self-bronzing products.

+ - What are the side effects?

Upon completing a session, redness may appear in the treatment area(s) and/or an edema. In certain cases, light bleeding can occur. These secondary effects disappear in the 48hrs following the treatment.

In certain cases, a repairing cream must be applied in the week following the procedure and will be prescribed to the patient.

+ - Why use metal eye shields during eyeliner tattoo removal?

Even though pico laser tattoo removal is very precise and targets only the tattoo, it is preferable to protect the eyes by placing single-use metal eye shields before starting the session.

They are positioned by the doctor in the same way as contact lenses.

+ - Is the laser session painful?

Several local anaesthesia options are available today:

  • anaesthetic cream;
  • anaesthetic eye drops;
  • local anaesthetic injection to reduce sensitivity.

Anaesthetic cream may be applied, provided it does not get into the eyes, as this could cause irritation.

Anaesthetic eye drops or local anaesthetic injections are less restrictive, but may also be less effective.

+ - Is the eyeliner laser tattoo removal process as long as tattoo removal on another area?

The number of sessions required for eyeliner tattoo removal is often lower than for other areas.

This is because the skin along the lash line is more like a mucous membrane or semi-mucous membrane. As a result, the tattoo ink generally does not settle as deeply.

In addition, because the skin is thinner, the ink does not penetrate as deeply.

As a result, an average of 3 to 4 sessions is usually required to remove an eyeliner tattoo, compared with 6 to 7 sessions for eyebrow tattoo removal, or even around ten sessions to remove a cover-up tattoo, meaning several tattoos layered over the same area.

+ - Can scarring occur after a laser tattoo removal session?

The pico laser is very precise, acts on the surface of the skin, and the laser impact is very brief. For these reasons, the risk of scarring is very low.

In addition, the interval between two sessions is longer for this type of tattoo removal: usually 8 weeks, compared with 6 weeks for other tattoo removal areas. This allows the skin more time to regenerate.
