Laser Hair Removal – Armpits – Women

Armpit Laser Hair Removal

Armpit hair removal is one of the most ingrained beauty and hygiene routines, but it is also one of the most restrictive. Between the razor that needs to be used every other day, waxing that requires waiting for regrowth, and the electric epilator that is particularly painful on this sensitive area, traditional methods quickly become tiresome. In addition, the skin of the armpits is thin and subject to constant friction, which encourages redness, painful irritation, pigmentation spots and ingrown hairs that can sometimes be embarrassing.

At our clinic, armpit laser hair removal is one of the most requested treatments, by both women and men. Quick, effective and radical, this technology offers permanent freedom from the chore of shaving, while restoring the skin’s original softness and smoothness.

Why is laser particularly effective on the armpits?

The armpits are the ideal area for medical laser hair removal. The hairs there are generally thicker and darker than on the rest of the body, while the skin is naturally lighter, as it is rarely exposed to the sun.

This perfect thermal contrast allows the laser to work at maximum efficiency. The beam of light emitted by the device is directly captured by the melanin (the dark pigment) in the hair. The energy then travels along the hair shaft to the bulb, where it is converted into heat to permanently destroy the root. Once the hair follicle has been eliminated, no hair can ever grow back in that spot.

Armpit laser hair removal is an extremely easy treatment to fit into your daily life thanks to its speed and predictable effectiveness

An express session: This is an ultra-quick treatment. Allow about 5 minutes in total to treat both armpits.

Comfort level: As the armpit area is sensitive, the laser pulse may cause a sharp tingling or a feeling of heat, comparable to the snap of an elastic band on the skin. To make the session perfectly comfortable, our latest-generation lasers feature a continuous cold-air cooling system that numbs the skin at the same time.

Number of sessions: To achieve an optimal result and eliminate around 85% to 90% of the hair, an average protocol of 6 to 8 sessions is needed.

The pace: Sessions are spaced 6 weeks apart at the start of the treatment in order to respect the natural hair growth cycle (the laser only destroys hairs in their active growth phase). This interval becomes longer as the protocol progresses.

To ensure an effective treatment and protect your skin, a few simple guidelines must be followed

Before the session

Shaving: You will be asked to shave the area 24 to 48 hours before the session. The hair must be short so that the laser energy is concentrated directly in the root without burning the surface of the skin.

No pulling out: Do not use wax, tweezers or an epilator for 4 weeks before the appointment. The bulb must remain in place under the skin so it can be targeted.

No sun: Even though the armpits are rarely exposed, make sure not to use tanning beds or tan in the 4 weeks before the treatment.

After the session

Hydration: Apply a soothing, repairing cream for 48 hours after the treatment to calm the slight temporary redness.

No deodorant: Avoid applying deodorant (especially if it contains alcohol or fragrance) on the day of the session and the day after so as not to irritate the skin.

No heat: Avoid sauna, hammam and intensive sports sessions for 24 hours after the session.
